   Early Head Start Program     

Early Head Start is a program that provides low-income pregnant women and families with children from birth to age three with family-centered services that facilitate child development, support parental roles, and promote self-sufficiency. Services are provided at no cost.

 
Who is eligible?  Persons meeting the following criteria:

  • Income eligible children ages birth to three years and/or pregnant women
  • Living in the Early Head Start service area
  • Programming for children with disabilities is provided

What can parents expect?

  • Parent participation in their child's personalized learning program through the Parents as Teachers and Growing Birth to Three curriculum.
  • Weekly home visits
  • Help in accessing community recources
  • Assistance in obtaining prenatal, health and dental care
  • Fun Family Events
  • Guidance in setting and meeting family goals
